Liebaert, a Belgian family business founded in 1887, is a manufacturing specialist for elastic fabrics and ribbons. The company employs 158 people and reports sales of €20 million. Manufacturing is based in Belgium at Liebaert’s 26,000 m2 site which will be expanded by 7,500 m2 in 2018.
Liebaert handles dyeing and printing in-house. Equipment includes the latest generation knitting machines with ultra fine gauges as well as both digital and traditional printing equipment. Liebaert currently owns 70 knitting machines (warp knitting and circular knitting) and 110 weaving machines. Production capacity is 80,000 metres of fabric per week and 25 million metres of ribbons per year.
Liebaert presents a large collection of circular knits and warp knits organised into product families to meet the needs of the lingerie-corsetry, swimwear and activewear, medical, and technical textile markets. The latest breakthrough, under the registered Nanostitch® trademark, is a collection of second-skin, four-way stretch, high performance knits. The fine, soft, comfortable 50 gauge warp knits have excellent recovery and are mouldable.
